Dreams into Flashfiction, New Year series

Even a tiny dream of a muddy lane in winter sun can be material for many fictions.

Bring your snippets, fragments or longer dreams and join my six-week series on Zoom. Each week, you’ll transform a little dream into one or more micro fictions or longer flashes using different methods. There’ll be time for feedback on participants’ dream-fiction drafts submitted in advance and for discussions on recurring dream themes and images which could be of interest if you are writing a collection or a longer form of flash fiction, such as a novel or novella. If you don’t often have dreams, you can still come. Often a weekly dream focus produces an impulse to dream and any waking sensation, however transitory, can be worked on as a dream. Fun and friendly.

You can pay for the whole series, £90. Or can pay-as-you go at £15 per session. This group will be closed at 12 participants. Payments for UK writers by bank transfer. And overseas writers via paypal.
    Begins Sunday 10th January 4.00 pm – 6.00 pm. Five subsequent Sundays – January 17th, 24th, 31st, February 7th, 14th.

I hope the day and time will accommodate writers from around the world. To find out more about some of the writing exercises I’ve created to work with dreams, read the conversation I had at Flash Frontier Doors Issue, with Jungian Analyst Siobhan Collins, which includes an example of a short simple dream of mine I used when I was teaching a dream session at the Culturama festival recently. It involves tomatoes and shows a couple of ways I turned the dream into different fictions.
